Every time I plan an event, I think about the way I would do it if I had unlimited resources. I play around with these ideas by making elaborate Pinterest boards, and also by designing the invite postcards that I would print out and mail if I could. Here are some of my favourites.
In 2017, I decided to move out to Toronto for a year. I wanted to have one last good party with my friends before I left, since I wouldn't get to see much of them. I designed several invitations (and envisioned them being printed with holographic foil) but they never say the light of day. It is, after all, a lot easier to just send someone a text.
My friends and I love to go on camping trips together. We aren't particularly outdoorsy- on this specific trip, we stayed in a heated yurt- but we like exploring new places and lighting campfires. I made this invite up when we were planning a road trip to Nehalem Bay, Oregon.
This was definitely the most dramatic invitation I've ever created. After I finished college, me and a handful of friends decided to go for brunch together to celebrate. I love the aesthetics of breakfast food, so I put together a set of invite postcards featuring eggs, bacon, and coffee cups.
